1. Maintain an organized three-ring binder, either specifically for American Literature or a
designated section of a large binder. You should include notebook paper and space for handouts with three-hole punch.
Also maintain an organized folder for handouts and papers without three-hole punch.
2. Keep all weekly calendars in chronological
order in your three-ring binder. This will help you study for tests, quizzes, the midterm and final exams.

Never throw away handouts, notes, graded materials. These materials will help you study and may help verify your
grade on Pinnacle.
4. Never ask for an extension on the day an assignment is due.
